Ideas for a Groovy, Hippy chick "Tie-Dye" Baby Shower
Hippy chicks will love our retro-themed Tie Dye Fun Baby Shower decorations. Color and fun are the name of the game for this baby shower, so here are some tips to make it a party to remember.
-
Mix and match solid color party supplies such as the single-colored table cover and then highlight with Tie-Dye napkins, cups and plates. Blow up plenty of multi-colored balloons Don’t be afraid to create a riot of color.
- Encourage your guests to dress up in retro ‘70s clothes, flares and florals, to get into the swing of the party.
- Select food that is delicious but also bright and cheerful. How about mutli-colored Jello in tumblers? They’re easy to make but do take a few hours to assemble. Select as many different Jello colors as you can find at the markets. Take some tumblers and pop them in the refrigerator. Then choose your first Jello color, prepare it according to the directions on the packet and pour just a little into the bottom of each tumbler in the refrigerator. Leave any leftover Jello in the pan and put it in the refrigerator as well. When it’s set, mix in a couple of tablespoons of whipped topping. Then layer about two tablespoons of the mixture on top of the first color in the tumbler. Repeat the steps above for all the different colors. It takes a while, but it’s worth it!
- Bake cupcakes in rainbow colors and don’t forget to put some food coloring into the baking mixture, so they’re colorful the whole way through.
- Make a fresh fruit salad selecting your fruits based upon their colors. You could cut up the fruit into chunks and pop different colors onto a skewer. The more the merrier! - When it comes to drinks, fruit punches were the in-vogue drink of the hippy years. They’re delicious even without alcohol – perfect for celebrating in style with Moms to be. Virgin Mary’s would also go down a treat!
The Tie Dye Fun theme is perfect for Moms who prefer crafts and activities to party games. Why not let your guests have a go at tie dying? Party-goers love to be involved and try something new. Your guests could design their own t-shirts, but even better - get them to tie dye a range of baby clothes. Buy a range of plain white bibs, baby socks and onesies along with some dyes. Then turn your kitchen table into a craft corner and let your guests design their own baby clothes especially for the new-comer. Encourage everyone to let their creative juices flow and if it all gets a bit messy, well it’s just a bit of preparation for those toddler days ahead! Don’t forget to order in some Labels, such as our
Round Baby Shower Favor Labels, perfect for your guests to write a little message to baby, so you can remember who made what.
